Hello! My name is Kysha (she/they). To my approach in birth work I bring a background in education, advocacy and mentorship; Striving for you to feel safe, informed, connected and empowered.
I am a companion, a grounding force, a mirror reflecting back your power and intuition, a well of community resources & coping tools, a protector of your peace, a deeply affirming guide right at your side as you prepare for the arrival of your babe.
I use our time to build meaningful relationship so we can weave the threads of your lived experiences, identities and values together for a strengthened process. I am committed to your family through tending your hopes and goals with compassion, intention, and humility.
In my personal time I find myself experiencing the fullness of life by playing in the ocean, chefing it up in the kitchen, having solo dance parties, camping & riding bikes, gardening, and of course loving on my life partner, dearest friends, and family.
"Birthwork teaches us to engage tension, but not to indulge drama. It is another form of facilitation, making the miraculous experience of birth as easy as possible, intervening with any systems that make the process harder, helping the family attend to each other and listen to what the body is saying, staying focused on the possibility and wisdom of the body. Standing or sitting with someone as they realize, remember their own wholeness—that is the work of the healer and the doula.”
